Constitution Quest

    David Barrett

2011-12-04 15.17.23Education career spans over 30 years. His general and Special Education teaching credentials have enabled him to serve both student populations for 3 and 28 years respectfully, where teaching reading is his passion. David also holds a Master’s Degree in counseling which has helped him assist both Special Education students and student athletes deal with the pressures of their unique circumstances. In May 2011, he was awarded the Crystal Apple for Chaparral High School in Temecula.

David’s baseball experience as both a college player and a 1979 San Francisco Giants signee paved the way for his role as a high school baseball head coach. His stint at Covina High earned him a 1988 California Southern Section Coach of the Year Award along with a California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Championship, followed by a 1994 Gatorade National Award Nomination for contributing to youth on and off the field. Before retirement from coaching, his teams captured 2 league titles at Chaparral High School.

Although more than a dozen former players have signed professional contracts and scores have performed at the college level, he is most proud of the numerous former student instructional aids that now have a career in the education field helping children with special needs. Dave believes that not everyone can be a major league ballplayer, however he strongly that everyone can be a major league person!

Pam Barrett

A flag-waving grandma with a passion for literacy. She earned her teaching credential in 1977 and has since been named The National Right to Read Foundation Teacher of the Year (1998) and has testified before the Congressional Committee on Education and the Workforce (2000). Pam has networked with parents, grandparents and teachers from all over the country to promote literacy. Her belief that all children can learn, along with her motto that “Readers become leaders!” has become the driving force behind her passion.

Because Pam wanted to impact the lives of children beyond her classroom or school, she became an instructional coach, training teachers in the Hemet Unified School District for 6 years. In addition, she has worked as a consultant for the Riverside County Office of Education for 4 ½ years, and has also served in an advisory capacity for several educational products. Currently, she is serving as an academic consultant for various educational entities. She has been married to David Barret for 33 years. They are the parents of 5 children and relish any opportunity to chase their 4 grandchildren around their backyard in Temecula, California.

Joel Barrett

Pam and Dave’s eldest son Joel, was a National Merit Scholar, earned a B.A. in political science and communication studies from Baylor University, and has a Master’s Degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has contributed to the development of several educational games, and writes in his spare time. He has worked in process engineering for a medical device manufacturing company, and he serves as a reserve officer in the Army National Guard. He and his beautiful wife are homeschool parents, raising their four brilliant kids in Murrieta, California.

"What's your Constitutional IQ?"

America is entering a very new and different time, a time where all of the rules of society change. The leaders of the next 50 years will be those people who understand this shift and are the first to adopt the new rules, and I believe that you are those leaders! You will be leading in a time that is completely new—and completely old. New because technology is changing everything faster than we can take it in and old because it has all happened before. Maybe not the level of technological advances, but certainly the cultural shifts, the shift in morals, politics—even our current military strategies have all happened before. Your world is at a crossroads — an historic crossroads. Sink or swim, the future depends on you. But what is this crossroads? It is just that. It is a place in time where events have come together in such a way that there are several options to take, and only one of them is the right one.

The Constitution Quest Game is now available at the Reagan, Nixon and Madison Presidential Libraries and selling across the nation. We are certain that your families would LOVE The Constitution Quest Game because they understand how vital Constitutional Literacy is at this critical time in our nation's history.
